![]() The iris, a dark circle that surrounds the black center of the eye (the pupil), is the reflective part of the eye. The colors of the iris vary from person to person: brown and blue are the predominant colors, but green and black are also common. Brown and blue are considered the most balanced – however, this does not mean that other colors indicate a negative condition. According the to system of iridiology, the reflection of the body is divided between the two eyes. Detailed iridiological maps show how all parts of the body are reflected in the iris. The iridiologist learns use this mapping and other factors like dense stains and different marks in the eye to glean information about the patient’s health condition. Certain characteristics, personality traits, genetic conditions, abilities and potential can also be identified. The iridiologist uses this information to diagnose the patient and direct him to appropriate treatment in one of the various areas of medicine.
