For thousands of years, Chinese clinics have used herbs that contain hidden powers to treat deficiencies and various sicknesses. The formulas for the composition of these medications were designed according to Chinese thought, with its regard for the impact of each part of the body on psychophysical systems.
The Chinese approach to the essence of herbs in relation to their natural location is well known. The chemical composition, way of blossom and method of nourishment of an herb that grows in a certain area is suited to its environment – to the earth, the air, the water and more. Human beings are also a part of the environment in which the herb grows. In other words, the “character” of the herbs growing in a particular area is harmonious with the type of person living in that region. Precise information gleaned from this outlook enables the discovery of the healing powers of the herbs and allows us to adjust them for treatment of a person’s condition.
The use of these herbal formulas in conjunction with acupuncture achieves exceptionally successful results.
Experiments to grow these special herbs, like the famous ginseng, in other places in the world were not successful. This lends credence to the Chinese claim that these herbs can only thrive in their ancient place of growth, China, and that geographic location contributes to the special vitality the herbs contain.
