![]() Chinese medicine is one of the most ancient systems of healing in the world. According to Chinese thinking, the body is divided into energy tracts – meridians – through which a person’s energies flow. In recent years, many great doctors have been introduced to the unique potential of Chinese medicine, with its radically different approach to the human body. This Chinese system assesses the human body as a unit of body and soul. The principles of Chinese medicine are based on the fact that each internal organ and every physiological system represent different energies that flow through the meridians from a person’s head to his toe. Along the length of these energy flow tracks are thousands of points that serve as energy transmission centers. Disease is a result of blockages along the energy flows, and the energy transmission centers are the keys to eliminate those blockages. To release these blockages we use special needles to puncture the transmission centers. This technique is known as acupuncture. Chinese medicine incorporates other types of treatment such as Chinese herbs, the use of moxssa and a diet plan that is adjusted to each person’s needs. It is interesting to note that there are many restaurants throughout China and Taiwan where a person comes with a doctor’s diagnosis his meal is prepared accordingly. Among topics studied: principles of Chinese medicine, the assessment of the limbs according to the Chinese theory, the fundamentals of Western medicine, the 5 elements, acupuncture, the location of points and meridians, the use of moxssa, diagnosis according to pulse and tongue, Chinese herbiology, diagnosis and pathology.
